Frequently Asked
Questions
What happens once I register with FemTrials?
After you register with Femtrials, your profile (without the contact information) will be searchable by FemTrials team members who are authorized and trained to use the secure FemTrials database system. If a researcher thinks your profile matches a study or trial needs, you may receive a message through FemTrials from that researcher that tells you a bit more information about the study or trial. You may easily respond Yes or No if you wish to learn more. A yes response will result in an online questionnaire that you can fill in to see if you would qualify for the particular study or trial. A no response will keep your contact information hidden.
Please remember that even if you respond yes through FemTrials, you are never obligated to participate in a study or trial. Only when you qualify for a study or trial and once you have passed questionnaires or medical tests, you will be asked to formally take part in a study or trial by one of our partners or clients. At that stage you will have received all relevant information about the study or trial, including an explanation of what is being expected from you and how your cost and involvement are being remunerated.
Since I am entering in my emailaddress, will I start getting a lot of emails if I join FemTrials?
Usually not. You will receive our news updates on a regular basis and will receive invitations by email or phone (SMS/WhatsApp) to look at new studies and trials only if these match your profile and interest.
When will I be invited for studies and trials if I join FemTrials?
You will be contacted as soon as you are matched with a new research study or clinical trial. Please remember though that FemTrials cannot guarantee that you will actually be contacted for any research project, although it is certainly our hope that these contacts will occur, because the market faces a shortage of girls and women willing to take part in studies and trials. Your help is really needed to help improve women’s health!
Do I have to participate in a research study or trial if I join FemTrials?
No, you will never have to participate in a study or clinical trial. It is not mandatory to participate. It is always your free choice.
Will I get paid to participate in a research study or trial?
Yes and no. Your travel cost and other basic cost will always be reimbursed by the organization that organizes the study or clinical trial that you participate in. In many cases they will offer additional remuneration and benefits to compensate the effort and time you spend on the study or trial. The remuneration will be depending on what is allowed by the law and rules in a particular country or region.
